Kansas City Submission Challenge 2018

Submission Challenge returns to Kansas City, with our Submission Only Jiujitsu Tournament for kids, teens, and adults. This is a Gi and No-Gi Submission Only jiujitsu tournament open to all Kids, Teens and Adults of all skill levels. This is an ISOF Ranked event offering International, National, and statewide rankings for winning athletes. Please review new updated tournament format.

8am - 8:30am - Youth and Teen

8:30am - 11am - Adults


Competition Schedule 

9am - Youth and Teen No-Gi

9:45am - Youth and Teen Gi

10:30am - White Belt No-Gi Adult

Noon - Colored Belts No-Gi Adult

1pm - White Belt Gi Adult

2pm - Colored Belt Gi Adult

Absolutely No Registrations will be Accepted After the Deadline. This is to ensure an on schedule and professionally ran event. 


Registration and Deadlines:

Early Bird Registration by Sun 9th Midnight1 Division $59 and 2 Divisions for $79
Regular Registration Closes Sun September 23rd at Midnight: 1 Division $69 and 2 Divisions for $99
Absolute Divisions: $20 Early $30 Late Registration (Adults only white - black belt gi and no-gi)
Championship Belts For Advanced Divisions (Gi and No-Gi : Orange Belt Youth, Blue belt Teen, Brown/Black Adult)

This is a Sub Only Jiu-Jitsu Tournament. Gi and No-Gi. ISOF Rules EBI Overtime. 



Competitive Divisions:

The Submission Challenge offers a variety of gi and no-gi divisions for our competitors to enjoy. Our regular gi and no-gi divisions are broken down by skill level, weight class, and age group. Our Absolute divisions (for adults) are broken down into each individual belt level with all weight classes combined.


Available Divisions to Compete In

•   Regular Divisions based on age, weight class, and skill level

•       All weight classes, all ages, same skill level



•   Tentative Event Schedule:

•   8am: Weigh ins for Kids and Teens Open 

•   8:30am - Rules Overview 

•   9am - Kids/Teens No-Gi then Gi / Adult Weigh Ins Begin

•   10:30am - All Adults White Belt No-Gi

•   11:30pm – Blue Belt No-Gi / Absolute White Belt No-Gi 

•   12:30pm - Purple Belt and Above  / Absolute Blue Belt No-Gi

•   1:30pm- All White Belt Gi / Absolute Purple No-Gi 

•   2:30pm –Blue Belt Gi / Absolute White Belt Gi 

•  3:00pm Purple Belt and Above Gi/ Absolute Colored Belt Gi 


Weigh In Schedule and Policy:

Competitors will receive a 1lb weight allowance during weigh ins. Competitors may weigh in wearing whatever they'd like. Competitors must weigh in at least 1 hour before their scheduled competitive start time. Competitors who fail to weigh in 1 hour before their scheduled start time will be disqualified from competition without refund or roll over.

The Submission Challenge utilizes the traditional Brazilian jiu-jitsu belt system as the guide for students skill levels. In the event you have not been awarded official rank or do not train at an official academy that awards rank, use the unofficial skill level guide as an equivalent to what belt level you need to select at registration.
